Luno Pay expands crypto payment option to South African retailers 

Luno, a secure cryptocurrency platform that lets you buy, sell, store, and trade BTC and ETH, has launched a feature that enables South African customers to make everyday purchases using their crypto wallet. 

Luno, which is present in over 40 countries, launched Luno Pay in South Africa, enabling its clients to pay for groceries, meals, and services using cryptocurrency at 31,000+ retail locations. 

South African shoppers can now shop in popular outlets like Pick and Pay by requesting the Contactless QR payment option or scanning the Zapper QR code at any supported merchant. In addition to that Luno Pay is available at online merchants that support Stitch’s ‘Pay with Crypto’ option. 

How it Works 

To pay, South African users can use the Luno app to scan the QR code at checkout, select the crypto wallet they wish to use, and confirm the transaction by entering their Luno PIN. The Luno pay feature supports all the cryptocurrencies available on Luno depending on the various wallet balances and market conditions. 

The new feature opens up crypto payment to over 31,000 merchants in South Africa allowing customers to carry out everyday transactions like paying for meals, buying groceries and even paying for parking tickets.
