Gracy Chen, CEO of the popular exchange Bitget, announced that the platform’s global user base had surpassed 45 million. Notably, Chen made the announcement in Singapore at Bitget’s 6th anniversary celebration.
Accordingly, Bitget issued a piece highlighting its user base growth statistics resulting in the present count of over 45 million. Bitget recorded a 400% year-on-year user boost from 2023 and monthly visits to its platform crossing 30 million visits per month.
Meanwhile, striking regional statistics of user base growth reveal a boost in user count by 1,614% in Africa in 2024 alone. Also, Bitget recorded an increase in user count by 216% in Southeast Asia and over 700% in South Asia in 2024.
In addition, the exchange recorded a net inflow of over $770 million in the first half of 2024. Also, there was a significant performance boost in Bitget’s native token (BGB). “BGB was also selected by Forbes as one of the top ten best-performing cryptocurrencies for the first half of 2024,” said Bitget in the release.
Bitget’s Innovations
The exchange platform’s new products and services contributed to attracting new users to Bitget. Noteworthy is PoolX, a staking outlet where users earn rewards from staking their digital assets.
Moreover, Bitget is partnering with new Telegram airdrops and while airdrop participants increase, they connect to Bitget during airdrop events to redeem their tokens.
According to the platform, “Bitget promotes blockchain education and supports female entrepreneurs through projects like Blockchain4Youth and Blockchain4Her.” These innovations have extended Bitget’s reach globally and markedly in Africa.

Currently, the rate of crypto adoption is rising in many African countries. More Africans are utilizing platforms like Bitget to explore the potential benefits of cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets.
